The Clinical Technician provides direct care and supervision of patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. The Clinical Technician has the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient's safety, environmental safety, and manages patient behavior on the unit. The Clinical Technician will provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. While performing specific duties, the Clinical Technician must provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse violent situation, and correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates effective communication skills
Completes timely observation and documentation of observation (Q 15 or Q 5 minute as assigned)
One to one evaluation of patients if assigned
Demonstrates active working knowledge of required documentation and observation of 1:1 patient
Follows all organizational policies and procedures
Demonstrates ability to locate policies
Understands they are responsible for knowing and adhering to hospital policies and procedures
