We are seeking an experienced Nurse Program Coordinator to support our Neuro-Oncology program, providing comprehensive care coordination for pediatric patients with cancerous brain tumors. This role is integral to treatment planning, patient and family education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. This position is in the Outpatient Clinic, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Incumbent will work 9 shifts per pay period with one scheduled day off that is predetermined.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate care for pediatric neuro-oncology patients with cancerous brain tumors
Support and manage oncology treatments and procedures
Set up and manage infusion appointments
Coordinate clinic appointments and attend provider exam visits
Assist with development and execution of individualized treatment plans
Coordinate radiation care with Mayo Clinic
Provide education and ongoing support to patients and families
Field and triage clinical calls from families
Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
Oncology nursing experience preferred
Prefer a strong understanding of oncology care and treatment workflows
Prior care coordination experience preferred
Pediatric experience strongly preferred
Candidates with non-pediatric backgrounds should be able to clearly articulate transferable experience
Excellent communication, organization, and family-centered care skills
This position coordinates the patient care services, workflow, and activities provided by nursing and support staff of assigned program. This position provides guidance, support, and direction to staff to ensure consistent provision of developmentally appropriate quality patient care in accordance with all applicable federal, regulatory, and professional standards and requirements.
Education
Bachelors degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
Masters degree in Nursing. (Preferred)
Experience
Three years clinical practice experience. (Required)
Experience with pediatric patient populations. (Preferred)
Certifications
Current State of Arizona RN license OR an RN license from a compact state with multi-state privileges OR ability to establish required Arizona RN licensure prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
