Description
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional administrative support? The Calabasas Stein Eye Center, a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice, is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to deliver a smooth patient experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Guide patients through check-in/out processes
Ensure accurate registration and insurance verification
Schedule a variety of appointments
Coordinate authorizations and referrals
Respond or route patient messages
Assist with surgery scheduling
Salary Range: $26.42-$37.49 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical office.
Experience scheduling patient appointments in computerized appointment scheduling system.
Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communication with patients, staff and doctors.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain records in a clear and orderly manner at the direction of the Office Manager.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and diseases, as it applies to the eye.
Familiarity with current patient billing practices and knowledge of current governmental programs.
Sufficient computer keyboard skills to perform appointment scheduling, encountering, emailing, and other related computer tasks.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Ability multitask effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
The ability to interact calmly and effectively with providers, staff, as well as patients with difficult personalities.
Preferred:
Experience working in a medical teaching institution and/or in a ophthalmology practice setting.
