The State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University seeks a Cytogenetic Technologist to join our team in Syracuse, NY. The work schedule is 7:30 am – 4:00 pm or 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. A Tuesday through Saturday schedule could also be accommodated for those desiring such a schedule. The selected individual will perform microscopy, cell and tissue culture, chromosome analysis, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and microarray analysis testing in a high volume academic clinical Cytogenetics laboratory.
Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences, Medical Technology, or Clinical Laboratory Science
Strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work collaboratively
Willingness to earn a New York State restricted clinical license in Cytogenetics
Preferred qualifications:
New York State restricted clinical license in Cytogenetics
ASCP certification in Clinical Cytogenetics (ASCP CG), or equivalent
Prior technologist experience in a clinical cytogenetics laboratory
