Job Description: The Project Director will execute a broad range of administrative, managerial, leadership, planning, and operational activities in support of the mission of the South Central AHEC and the WKU CPR Training Center. This position leads the South Central KY AHEC by overseeing staff, managing grants and budgets, building regional partnerships, and developing programs across a 22-county service area. The South Central KY AHEC Project Director is a grant funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon the successful procurement of external grants. This is an in-person position. Primary Responsibilities - Works closely with the Kentucky AHEC Program office to accomplish center goals including, but not limited to, student clinical training, continuing education programming, community health education, health careers recruitment activities, and special projects.
- Supervises department staff, student interns, and contractual employees.
- Applies for and implements grants that further the mission the center.
- Develops and manages budgets for the South Central KY AHEC office and the WKU CPR Training Center ensuring compliance with university and grant policies.
- Collects data and prepares reports for federal, state, and foundation grants.
- Identifies healthcare workforce training needs in the South Central KY AHEC region and works to establish programs/services to address those needs.
- Collaborates with universities and AHECs across the region and country to develop programs for healthcare profession students.
- Establishes and maintains partnerships throughout the service region to develop, implement, and evaluate healthcare career pathway programs.
- Coordinates health career programs including, but not limited to the State Registered Nurse Aide course, interprofessional test prep course, and the medical interpreter training.
- Coordinates the South Central KY AHEC advisory board and related activities.
