Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Perform PCT duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager
• Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assist in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answers inquiries within the scope of practice
• Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, give initial instruction; assist in transporting discharged patients and answer inquiries within the scope of practice
• May act as the unit?s receptionist, assign patient to room on board, alert nursing staff to patient arrival, pull and prepare chart; order and monitor utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and retrieval chart back; assist with stocking supplies that are needed in the unit as well as assist in keeping the nursing stations clean and organized

Job Requirements: 

• High School or GED.

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

• One (1) year experience
• Licensure Oklahoma Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician
